Dear Friends:
The campaign office is buzzing with activity as election day draws nearer. We have 11 weeks to spread our message before voters hit the polls.
This is the most important election in generations. The ramifications of policies addressing the economy, entitlement reform, and the exploding federal deficit will extend for decades.
I had the opportunity on several different occasions this past week to visit with the people of southern Utah about issues directly affecting them. A top concern is the lands controversy. More than 67-percent of land within Utah boundaries is federally owned. This has cost the state millions of dollars in energy royalties and created funding challenges for local governments. The state could and should control and administer many of these public lands. Utah is our home, and we know how to care for it better than Washington bureaucrats.
Now is the time to bring true change to our nation. I would recommend you read, if you haven’t already, the article featured on the cover of the most recent Newsweek Magazine, “Hit the Road Barack. Why we need a new president.” It’s important we have the right leadership guide us through this tipping point in our nation’s history, and the Romney-Paul presidential ticket is the only way to go.
I have some exciting events coming up, and I would be grateful for your to attendance.
- I will be holding town hall meeting Thursday, August 23rd from 6:30 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at the West Bountiful City Park (550 West Pages Lane). We will discuss the miracle of freedom and some of the key issues in this year’s election.
- On Thursday, August 30th at 6 p.m. we will gather at the Republican Party Headquarters, 117 E South Temple, SLC, to watch Romney address the Republican Party at the National Convention. Join us for an evening of fun while we support our presidential candidate.
